It’s not that hard, right?
Not hard at all if you know what you’re doing.
But if the operator is not experienced, then towing an RV can be a difficult, costly, and even dangerous.
Most people know that RVs are meant to be extremely light and flexible so that they can be towed 70 mph down a highway. What they fail to realize is that this comes at the cost of a lack of durability.
For example, one skinny little stick can puncture right through the exterior of an RV. Also, most RV roofs are made of rubber. This means, if you catch it on a branch it will actually peel back the roof causing thousands of dollars in damage along the way.
There are a lot of things to be aware of when you’re moving people’s beloved property. For example, we always make sure to check all the tires for good tread and good pressure. By doing this each and every time, we virtually eliminate the risk for blowouts. One single blowout has the ability to shred an RV to pieces. Or, worse yet, it can cause the RV to become unstable and provide an enormous hazard to drivers and traffic.
Another common issue we have heard of is people not checking all around the RV prior to departure. The result is a lot of unnecessary damage to things like vent covers, satellite dishes, exterior fans, heating vents, cords, tires, awnings, etc. Before departure, we always make sure to walk around the entire RV at least two times to make sure we catch anything you may have forgotten under the tires or on the roof. We look to make sure all windows, awnings, and exterior attachments are secured and will easily be able to endure the forces of the wind and road.
